Hilltop Academy was founded on the belief that every child has infinite potential. After decades as an educator and school leader—and as a mom—I knew it was time to create the kind of school that nurtures the spirit, mind, and body of every learner. Together, our team brings deep experience and a shared vision- to honor the hero within each learner through
joyful, holistic, and purposeful education.
At Hilltop Academy, curiosity, play, and exploration ignite learning, while their passions are unearthed. Our learners grow through mentorship and service, and prepare for whatever path inspires them—college, career, or calling.
Most of all, they come to know their lives hold purpose, value, and possibility.

At Hilltop Academy, we want learners to wake up excited for school—energized, curious, and eager to start their day. Student voice and choice aren’t extras here; they’re at the heart of everything we do. Our learners help shape what their school experience looks like, because we believe it’s time to truly listen to what students need.
We’re shifting the paradigm of how school is done by designing experiences that feel natural for how young people learn and what inspires them. That means we build in time for play (yes, even for our big kids), outdoor exploration, movement, creativity, and authentic learning at each student’s pace. We nurture the whole child—heart, mind, body, and spirit—because every part matters.
Connection is one of the main pillars of our work. Learners connect with their peers, with nature, within the community, and most importantly, with themselves. Through partnerships with families, local organizations, businesses, and colleges, our “village” ensures that learning extends far beyond our walls..

Hilltop Academy is perfectly situated in West Suffield, Connecticut—conveniently located between Springfield, Massachusetts, and Hartford, Connecticut. Our location combines accessibility with a sense of place, giving learners the space to explore and connect with both the natural world and the broader community around them.
Family Friendly and Flexible Community...
Hilltop Academy is designed to complement the lives of modern families. With our Hilltop Hybrid Program, learners experience the best of both worlds: personalized in-person experiential learning and activities two days a week.
We work with families to create schedules and learning experiences that fit their children’s rhythms, needs, and interests—because learning should be engaging, adaptable, and centered on the whole child. Hybrid students also participate in our “Fun Fridays,” enjoying field experiences, service opportunities, community connections, and joyful, hands-on learning—just like our full-time learners.

Hilltop Academy Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(C)3 organization. All proceeds and donations support our tuition assistance and educational programming.
