We are so excited that you are interested in joining Hilltop Academy! Families interested in having their child attend Hilltop Academy must complete an application and interview process. Admission is based on a selection process that ensures that the student, family, and school are a strong fit for each other, sharing the school’s vision, mission, core values, and beliefs. Hilltop Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or disability. Hilltop intentionally strives to maintain a diverse school community representative of our local and global communities.
The steps for admission are outlined below. Pull down on the arrow to the left of the step for details. We recognize that what may seem clear to us, may not be to you, so please contact us by phone or by email. We do not want the application process to be overwhelming or confusing, so big or small, do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Our contact information can be found below. We look forward to connecting with you!
Our openings are limited! Don't delay starting the admissions process to ensure a spot is reserved with your name on it!!
Completing the Inquiry Form is a first step your path toward admissions. Through the Inquiry Form we will learn some information about you that will help us begin getting to know you, understand what has drawn you to Hilltop Academy, and what you are looking for in a school. Additionally, completion of the form will help ensure the best communication possible.
An informational session will allow you and your caregivers to learn everything there is to know about Hilltop Academy. This is an excellent time for you and your family to ask any and all questions! Upon submitting your inquiry form, you will be invited to your informational session.
After you and your parent/caregiver participate in an informational session, your next step will be to complete an online application, which will be shared with you following the informational session. The application deadlines for both early decision and standard application can be found below.
Our admission process requires a student interview and a separate interview with parents and caregivers. This process affords another opportunity for questions to be asked and to determine if we are a good fit for each other. {Through this process, we can determine if we are a good fit for each other and affords another opportunity for questions to be asked.}
Why do we interview parents/caregivers? That's a great question! At Hilltop Academy, we believe that parents/caregivers are integral to the success of their child. We want and need our parents/caregivers to be involved. The parent/caregiver interview is a chance to discuss in greater depth, opportunities for their involvement and any other details relative to admissions, enrollment, and school programming.
It is advisable that the student and parent/caregiver interviews be scheduled consecutively; however, we are happy to accommodate whatever works best for your schedule.

As a nonprofit, independent school, Hilltop Academy strives to make our school experience accessible to families no matter what their financial status is, reflecting our desire to prioritize inclusivity and connectedness. Our intention is to make Hilltop Academy within reach for families of all backgrounds.
Whether or not you can afford Hilltop Academy is probably one of the top things you are considering. Tuition assistance will be provided based on need, availability of funds, and in order of receipt of financial assistance application. A tuition assistance application may be requested upon acceptance. While we would love to provide tuition assistance to every family, assistance can only be provided while funds for assistance are available
The tuition paid to Hilltop Academy is directly invested in the education and experience we provide our students. As such, we offer financial assistance on a sliding scale based on financial need. In order to qualify for assistance, applicants are required to meet a set of eligibility requirements including, but not limited to the following:
Have a child who has applied for and has been accepted to Hilltop Academy
Reside in the Greater Hartford, Connecticut or Greater Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan areas
Meet established income eligibility guidelines as determined through our tuition assistance management program
We aim to objectively determine each applicant's family’s need for aid by:
• Conducting a confidential, detailed financial analysis to determine whether or not a family qualifies for financial assistance
• Determine how much will be awarded
• Determine a family's expected financial contribution toward tuition
• Honor our families' privacy as we work to meet the needs of all of our families
Financial aid analysis will not be based solely on a family’s total income. Other factors that are considered include: assets; federal taxes paid; parents' student loan debt; number of children in full-day, tuition-charging schools; and number of family members in the household. These factors will be considerations in financial assistance on an annual basis to determine whether a family's financial picture has changed. Completion of the financial assistance application is for families who otherwise would not have the means to afford and access Hilltop Academy.
